As previously announced, Value-based Purchasing of Health Benefits is a new distance-learning course being offered by GPBCH, HealthCareTN, and the Florida Alliance for Healthcare Value, through the University of Central Florida, building on the longstanding in-person College for Value-based Purchasing (CVBP). Through an 8-week course, enrollees will learn about how to develop a comprehensive approach to pursuing value through their health and benefits programs. Participation is asynchronous, meaning enrollees can complete each week’s activities in their free time, listening to recorded materials, reviewing readings and web-based materials, and contributing to an on-line discussion. The course is open to employers at all stages of their careers, who are seeking to develop a plan for advancing population health and value of the health benefits spend. It could be especially useful for newer additions to the benefits team at GPBCH employer member organizations. Thanks to sponsorships from Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, and Genentech, the subsidized tuition is just $500 for the cohort enrolling now for January of 2025.
