GPBCH Congratulates Hospitals That Received an “A” Leapfrog Fall 2021 Safety Grade
A record 2,901 facilities received a Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade for fall 2021. Letter grades are assigned to U.S. general hospitals based on how well they prevent medical errors, accidents, injuries, and infections that kill or harm patients. The Safety Grades reflect performance on more than 30 evidence-based measures of patient safety, including for the first time, post-operative sepsis, blood leakage, and kidney injury. Across all states thirty-two percent of hospitals received an "A," 26% received a "B," 35% received a "C," 7% received a "D," and less than 1% received an "F.” The Greater Philadelphia Business Coalition on Health serves as the Leapfrog Regional Leader for southeastern Pennsylvania (five-county Philadelphia area) and Delaware, and the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute is Leapfrog Regional Leader for all of New Jersey. GPBCH congratulates area hospitals that received an “A” Safety Grade:
